While it may be a common quote in beauty pageants, the SAME (So All May Eat) Cafe in Denver is actually walking the walk, and getting food on plates!
Recently found an article on this amazing cafe whose thought process is simple but works. Through organic food donations, SAME each day makes a new menu with a variety of healthy options. People of all walks are welcome to come in, grab themselves a drink and silverware, then order off the menu. A donation box is the method of payment, with the idea that those who can pay more, would (based off the honor system), and in turn, those who can’t pay as much would have their meal paid for…. not a dime to your name? No worries, you can work an hour to pay for you meal!
What a beautiful idea of getting people back on their feet through community and humble sharing!
Hit them up if you ever are in the area or make a donation online… SAME Cafe

We were all skeptical of this one… Only 3 ingredients for a peanut butter cookie recipe? It can’t be good… but, oh, it is!
1 cup sugar, 1 cup peanut butter, 1 egg. Mix. Plop balls of dough on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Eat.
The best part, if you didn’t notice already, GLUTEN FREE! Eat your heart out baby.

Eden Advocate Amy Purdy has been out and about getting in the first hoorahs of summer! In a trip to Nevada City she was able to meet up with one of our amazing Element skaters Evan Strong, also one of the top Adaptive Action Sports athletes and now a restaurateur! Evan and his family recently opened an organically spectacular raw vegetarian restaurant called THE FIX. Amy gave a full run down of her order and I’m about ready to hop a flight… unless they deliver to California.

100%, hard core, no excuses, eco-friendly living is well, HARD! And while it is absolutely wonderful to buy all the groceries at Whole Foods Market, there isn’t always a paycheck that size… so buy the top foods that are most important to purchase organically… apples, peaches, coffee, milk, meat, celery, bell peppers, strawberries, leafy greens, tomatoes, carrots, grapes and potatoes all are known to hold more pesticide residue than the rest, so look for these treats in the organic section… Even better, check your local farmers markets first and support your community by buying locally.
