During the Great Depression our government founded the Works Progress Administration to create jobs for millions of unemployed Americans. During its 8-year existence, the WPA provided jobs for almost 8 million individuals in fields that improved quality of life including building projects, road construction, literacy, and food distribution.

Inspired by the resilience and hard work of those who have gone before us, ReadyMade Magazine asked five artists to create their own modern-day WPA posters. These awesome pieces of art can be viewed and downloaded here.
