Sk8 Bags+Buckles

Beck(y) is a line of handbags and accessories by our very own Eden Advocate, Beck Hickey. Each piece is unique and made by hand from recycled and donated skateboards. Not only is Beck a talented artist, she’s a runner too and this March she’ll be participating in a marathon to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. You can support her cause and her art by purchasing a Sk8 buckle or bag from her Etsy shop, Beckycity!

Here’s some examples of the awesome accessories she has for sale:

Thanks for your support!

Good Enough to Eat!

I love these cute little prints by Sawa Tanaka… and the best part is, the art is silkscreened using actual food like fruit juice and cream!

I think this one is really interesting – I wonder if it actually works?

Trunk Show + Food Drive

Thanks to everyone who came out to Coastal Boutique in Seattle for the Element Eden Power to the Planet Trunk Show and Food Drive!

Guests previewed the Fall 2009 collection and we were able to collect tons of food for the local food bank. Don’t miss the last two events for February, this Friday. See here for more details.

Check for more Coastal events and see their updated site.

STEVE HARRINGTON

I was catching up with my homies Steve Harrington and Justin Krietemeyer from National Forest recently and I found out that Steve has just designed an amazing new iPhone 3G Slider Case and a MacBook Pro 15″ Sleeve for Incase as part of the “Curated by Arkitip” Series.

Steve and Justin are both amazing artists, designers, and friends. This past year they were responsible for the ‘OUR MOUNTAIN’ Art Show Tour and Element Cruiser Board Series.

Here’s a video on Steve that accompanies the “Curated by Arkitip” series.

“For The Love Of…” OPENING RECEPTION

Thanks to everybody who came out to the opening reception of “For the Love Of…” at Giant Robot, San Francisco! I spent the weekend with my awesome brother Luke and his sweet girlfriend Alisa who live in the Sunset district of San Francisco, near the beach. The highlight of my weekend was meeting and spending time with some of the artists in the show, Chris Bettig, Joe To, Ben King, and my old buddy Robert Bellm. There were a few other amazing artists who couldn’t make it to the opening but were there in spirit, Albert Reyes, Matt Furie, Jesse LeDoux, Aiyana Udesen, Daria Tessler, Sydney Pink and Tim Gough. The opening was a big success and I had so much fun! Here’s some pics from the setup and the reception.

“For the Love of…”

Hey Everybody! My name is Aaron Martinez and I’m a graphic designer and artist for Element Eden. This Saturday, February 21st, I have some artwork in a group show called “For the Love Of…” at Giant Robot, San Francisco. I did a series of paintings based on dreams – here’s a sneak peak at a couple of the pieces I’m putting in the show. If you’re in the bay area please stop by and say hi!
