On Saturday, June 13th, I was in an art exhibition entitled, “GIRLS VS BOYS” at The Camp in Costa Mesa, California. The exhibition featured four boys & four girls… A battle to the death!
For my installation I explored the age-old battle between men and women, by looking back at the innocent days as a child. Things were simple when all you needed to do is tease the boy (or girl) that you liked, in the hopes that they would notice you. It was a time when love is not understood, but innately, something you desired. There was no stress about meeting the parents, dating obligations, or awkward sexual encounters, just the simplicity of love and adoration.
“Boys Germs. Girls Germs. Nah nah nah nah nah!” is an interactive display, encouraging people to revisit these simple words of torment and love.
For those who couldn’t make it to the opening, the Girls vs Boys gallery will be open THIS WEEK ONLY, 11am to 2pm daily, and 11am to 6pm on Saturday. Make sure to check out the incredible artwork while you can! The Camp: 2937 Bristol Street, Costa Mesa CA 92626
Super fun animation with everyone’s favorite office accessory – the Post-it Note! I’ve seen stop motion with these little paper fiends before, but this one is really creative and detailed – this was definitely a labor of love – created by Bangyao Liu for her senior project, I hope she got an ‘A’…
