Respect for your elders…
They are the ladies who brought us every inspiration you see in contemporary fashion… fashion is a cycle of re-invention girls, where do you think we all got it from originally?!
Show some respect and have a sit down with us to view the trailer of Advanced Style‘s upcoming documentary by Lina Plioplyte and Ari Seth Cohen for NOWNESS…
In love with every one of these women!
STUDIO B.I.B x AB

Studio B.I.B. is a Toronto based creative space operated by Allister Lee. It specializes in consultation, branding, and graphic work for premier niche retail operations and apparel brands.
Allister recently asked me to make a plush version of his mascot… Here is what I came up with. As a big fan of Allister’s work, and his black and white aesthetics, it was super fun to work on, and I’m really happy with how it materialized.
Check out some of Allisters beautiful illustrations here.
Travel well my friend…

THE OFFICE

I was visiting the Element office here in California, and decided to snap some pictures of the people behind the scenes. These are the creatives that make Element Eden so rad, and the clothing brand it is today.
Angie Panian is the Element Eden Graphic Designer. Chances are that anything you see about Eden, this is the lovely lady had something to do with it. When I asked Angie, what Eden means to her, she said; “Eden means finding beauty in everyday and every person.” I think Angie is pretty special, and that’s not just because she used to make a cheddar cheese sandwich everyday for lunch during elementary school.
Throwback mag cover…
Turns out Liv Tyler was the first cover girl for Nylon Magazine in 1999 (one of our personal faves!)
The two recently got back together to catch up on life since the late 90′s… it’s more like a conversation than an interview and great personality shines through. A must read….
Aside from the interview, how great are Liv’s pink rhinestoned lips on this cover?!
Love it Nylon!
It’s the little things in life…
“Inspired by seemingly small unimportant everyday situations…”

"Japan is in my heart" -Miya Ando
With her ancestors holding titles in Japan as legendary sword makers, Element Eden Advocate Miya Ando has grown around the art of steel works. Having one foot rooted firmly in Japanese culture and the other growing in a Western frame of mind from her upbringing in Santa Cruz California, her works stem a beautiful juxtaposition of the two worlds.
Miya’s heart has been strong with the Japanese people during this time of rebuilding, and she only continues to focus her artistic work in charitable donation to help Japan through this time.
Above is one of her most recent works “Hamon Drawing [meditation 1]“, with proceeds to go to Direct Relief International.

TREES

We just got back from a road trip to the happiest place on Earth, aka Element YMCA Skate Camp.

Camping in the mountains is a humbling experience… When you rise with the sun in the mornings, and go to sleep when the sun slips behind the trees, it reminds you that you are one with the earth.

The Sequoia trees dwarf you as they reach for the sky. Would you believe that these four growths come from one tree stump!

I loved walking this path everyday. There was a squirrel that would play in the tree to the left, and on the right was where the Japanese campers were staying… Every morning, I would greet them with a Konichiwa!
